Wine Dating is a separate mode for adults who choose it. It is off unless you switch it on, it shows only your city — never your exact location — and you can pause it, unmatch, block or report at any time. It opens in Valencia once enough people have joined and our safety team is fully in place.
Before you meet
- Chat in WeWine first. Take your time; anyone who rushes you or quickly moves you to another app deserves caution.
- Keep personal details — home address, workplace, finances — to yourself until you trust someone.
- Never send money, gift cards or financial details to someone you have met online, whatever the story.
- A short video call is a good way to check that someone is who they say they are.
When you meet
- Meet somewhere public and busy — a wine bar is ideal — and arrange your own way there and back.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting and when you expect to be home.
- Stay in control. Alcohol affects judgement: order what you are comfortable with, or nothing alcoholic at all, keep an eye on your glass, and never feel pressured to drink.
- If you feel uncomfortable, leave. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.
Consent
Consent must be clear and freely given, and it can be withdrawn at any time. No one is ever owed anything because of a date.
If something goes wrong
- In an emergency in Spain, call 112.
- For gender-based violence, call 016 — free, available 24 hours, and it does not appear on your phone bill.
- Block and report the person in WeWine. We review reports within 24 hours, and urgent safety reports immediately. You can also write to safety@wewine.app.
What we do
Profile photos are reviewed, new accounts have limits, and we look for fake accounts. A person confirms every suspension or ban. Your dating data is visible to our moderators only when they review a report.
