WeWine is a wine social network. A visual quiz reveals your wine personality; you can compare tastes with friends, chat, get help choosing from a shelf or a wine list, ask AI sommeliers, and find wine bars and restaurants — starting in Valencia.
Not at all. The quiz uses pictures of places, fruit, flowers, food and moments — never grape names or tasting vocabulary. Everything afterwards is explained in everyday language.
Yes. The quiz, your wine personality, sharing, friends, Wine Match and chat are free. Optional paid plans — a 24-hour Wine Pass or Premium — add more scans, pairings and sommelier questions.
Think of it as a well-informed first guess. Picture choices are a starting point, not a scientific test — and never a medical or psychological assessment. Your profile improves as you save, rate and scan wines, and results are always shown as a likely fit.
Wine Match compares two taste profiles and explains, in plain words, what you have in common and where you differ. When there isn’t much data yet, it says so instead of showing a falsely precise number.
No. They are AI characters, and we label them clearly everywhere. The Wine Legends are interpretations of historic wine writers, built from their public-domain books — not the people themselves. Answers can be wrong, so double-check anything important.
We ask for your permission before your photos or questions are sent to our AI provider, Google Gemini. Scan photos are deleted after 7 days. You can export or delete your data at any time from the privacy centre in the app.
Wine Dating is a separate, adults-only mode that you have to switch on yourself — joining WeWine never signs you up for it. It opens in Valencia once enough people have joined and our safety team is fully in place. Until then, there is a waiting list.
You must be 18 or older to use WeWine. We ask you to confirm your age before you start the quiz, and again when you create an account.
No. WeWine is about taste, discovery and good company, never about drinking more. You can set alcohol-free or low-alcohol preferences. If you are pregnant, driving, taking medication or worried about your drinking, please skip the wine and speak to a health professional; in an emergency in Spain, call 112.
Local recommendations are only useful if they’re accurate, so we’re starting with one city we can curate properly. The quiz, friends, sommeliers and scanner work everywhere — and in the app you can vote to bring WeWine to your city.
No. The web app works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, including Android. The iPhone app is coming soon to the App Store. One account works everywhere.
No. Our Valencia rankings are curated and never for sale. Any partner venue is clearly labelled. Venue owners can claim, correct or remove a listing for free by writing to venues@wewine.app.
From the privacy centre in the app, at any time. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data — including your sommelier conversations — and it disappears from our backups within 30 days. You can also write to privacy@wewine.app.
